Can somone help with these 2 word problems?
In order to raise some money for the high school golf team, the team will operate a dunking booth at the local carnival during the summer. The team will pay $100 to rent the booth. Each customer will pay $1.25 to throw the ball at the target on the platform. Write an inequality that could be used to find the number of customers required for the club to make a profit of a least $400.
To solve a problem for class, Christy needs to graph the equations shown below. Create two tables using identical numbers for “x” and graph each equation on graph paper. Describe the differences between the two graphs by stating the positions of each graph relative to each other. Also state the roots for each graph.
y=x² +1 and y=x² -1
The income is $1.25x, where x is the number of customers.
Profit is income minus expenses.
Profit = 1.25x - 100
You want your profit to be $400 or more
1.25x - 100 ≥ 400
The y=x² -1 curve will be identical to the y=x² +1 curve, except it will be translated downward by two units
