MMA glove question?
I have these UFC gloves and they are adult size small-medium and my hands are a little bit bigger. Is it alright to wear gloves a little smaller than your hands? What are the pros of this? Cons? I don't know why i like smaller gloves.
Depending on which gloves you have, you'll be fine. Leather gloves tend to stretch a little in the fingers, so the palm/grip will be just fine. If you have synthetic gloves, you may end up ripping them instead of stretching.
The gloves should be big enough to protect your knuckles and back of your hand adequately. As long as that's OK you can get whatever size is comfortable. I like smaller gloves too, as it is easier to pummel/swim when grappling - larger or loose gloves don't work for me either.
Fairtex makes excellent MMA gloves - full leather, padding and finger-hooks hold up really well, good velcro closures, and they are snug.
