my putting is suffering seriously and its the only part of my game that's not improving ?
I love golf but lately my putting has been off. first of all my putts are short than the next hole long and there always either to the left or the right. I work the hardest on my putting but it seems that it is the only part of my game not advancing. Im 15 and very serious about the game this is the most i've golfed in one year (not much only about 9 times) but i shoot in the 100-110 range and every game my score usually drops 3-5 strokes. all my clubs are mens except for my putter which is junior is it to short? Also i practice on my lawn outside is it throwing my game off?
I don't see how you could practiec putting on your lawn.
However, some things you could do are you could use two pieces of wood, put them parellel alongside each other, and putt in between them, making sure you hit neither. This will help you make sure you have a straight stroke when putting.
Also before each match, practice on the putting green. Take note of how cut the grass on it is and how fast it is, and whether it rained recently.
Also, instead of trying to sink a put from 10-15 feet away, imagine the hole as being 1 foot wider than it is. This will help you get the ball right next to the hole for an easy finish. Just try to get it close to the hole as possible. I find this has helped me a lot, and i frequently 2-putt most holes from decent starting distances away.
One last note: Make sure you follow through on your putt. You don't want to chop at it. Following through will make your putt go straighter and go the distance you want it to.
