DSG might be great and all, might be faster, but man, that 6 speed manual is so luxuriously smooth it makes every other gearbox feel like something lifted from a rusty old tractor that redneck hillbillies used for target practice before soaking it in kerosene and burning it.

Just got one. Siiiiiiiiick. Tried the MS3, tried even the subaru. Of coarse, those cars are brutes, and the insurance/gas/cops lookin was just not worth it for my situation.
DSG is so sicker than stick, in my opinion.
You want a fast race car, save your chips and build one. If you want a car, to go to work, to school, the liquor store, and not overdo it, Get the GTI!!!!!

The reason the GTI …
The reason the GTI has won car of the year twice in three years is because while the WRX, Mazdaspeed 3 etc are faster… the GTI is far better built.. has a far more luxorious interior and most magazine editors claim that the VW 2.0 Turbo 4 is the greatest high output engine in the world because of it’s smooth power delivery and torque curve. So others may beat it until it’s chipped, but it’s far more fun to drive. Not to mention the VW created DSG gearbox has even been adopted by Ferrari.
