What Accessories Do I Need To Purchase With A Wii?
I'm getting my mom and dad a Wii and I want to avoid the bundles, because I don't want a lot of extras that they won't use. (Looking to get my dad a golf game and my mom the Dancing With The Stars game.) So after the console itself (and games, obviously!) what else do I have to get for it to run on an HDTV?
you need cables to maximize the resalution. You can either use the cable that already comes with it, it think that it's like 480p (standard T.V.) you can also buy a 720p (considered HD, but not full HD), and i THINK that you can buy a full 1080p cord that's full HD, and the p stands for pixels (just to let you know). If your getting it for you mom, AND your dad, you might want to buy an extra controller, those are 45 dollars for a wiimote, and a nunchuck is about 25 or something, you can also buy them wireless for about 10 dollars more.
if you parents are considered old, you might want to give your dad an golf clubaccessory, you can buy it for wii sports (the game comes with it if you buy it new). It also comes with a baseball bat extension, tennisracket extension, and a golf club extension. Also, you may want to consider a charger pack, they can be up to 30 dollars, it's a very good idea but unnecisary if your parents have rechargeable batteries. You don't need to buy them all of this but here, i'll give you the approximate totals, at least in canadian dollars 
Wii, about 270ish
1080p full HD cord 20-40 dollars depends on what brand you buy
Charger 30 bucks
extra wiimote 45, extra nunchuck 25

dancing with the stars game 45 bucks
tiger woods game(probly the best game to get him for golf, but there IS a golf game on wii sports wich comes with the wii when you buy it new but it's not great and not real) i suggest to keep costs down, buy the year before used, for about 20 dollars, instead of 50
The total amount is 485 bucks, but most of the cost is the suggested thingsthat i gave you, like the charger acessory pack, and you could just give them the wii without the extra remote or nunchuck cuz it comes with it.... but hope this helps Meryy christmas

Just component cables, but you don’t get HD, just ED (480p).

It should hook up to any TV if it has the three holes for the yellow, white and red plugs.
I don’t recall what all comes with the Wii other than the Wii Sports game, so I would check to see what comes with it. If it isn’t included, buy a nunchuk controller.
Just so you know, the Wii Sports game disk has a simple golf game included, although another golf game would probably be better.
Really, the Wii comes with almost everything you need: power cord, TV cable, sensor bar, remote, and even comes with a few sports games. The nunchuk is needed for certain games, so it would be good to get, and perhaps an extra remote so more than one person can play together.

You will need to bu ythe HDTV cords. I’m not sure if the bundles come with 1 or 2 controllers, but you might have to buy an extra controller (assuming you want too). Have a look online, as you can find some great deals. Stores kind of rip you off.
