What Accessories Do You Recommend For The Wii?

with 6 comments

I have just bought a wii with a few games for my children for Christmas and it includes two remotes, a nun chuck and two wheels. I have seen loads of different accessories you can buy from charging units to golf clubs to wrist straps. I don't want to spend ridiculous amounts of money buying accessories I don't need but at the same time I don't want to find out I should have got something that would be useful when it's too late. For example do the tennis rakets and golf clubs actually improve the playing as by all accounts it's not as though you are hitting real balls so should I just stick with using the remotes on their own or do these shells make a lot of difference. Also should I invest in rechargeable batteries and charging units or do normal batteries last a long time anyway. Thoughts of experience wii uers are much appreciated and will reward with 10 points for best answer.

I would get the docking station so that you are not replacing the batteries all the time to start

Depending on your children's ages I would recommend getting the wrist straps as they can get carried away playing and the remote can easily slip out of their hands!

And as for all the other accessories they are not necessities but more to enhance the visual and feel experience

  2. Not only do I own a Wii, but I work at Gamestop. Many of the accessories available for the Wii are completely pointless. The ones I would suggest are the Wii motion plus for each controller which I would suggest buying Wii Resort with the 2 include and another nun chuck because some games require you to use both.

  3. all you need is two nun chucks and two controllers all others things useless and if you want you can get sets on e bay with golf club baseball bat etc for a tenner but i honestly wouldnt bother defo get th docking station argos do one thats cheap enough and as well as two rechargable batteries and dock it also has a fan for keeping the wii cool and not overheating if its for the kids only other thing like the second guy said maybe wii motion plus but there not nescessity either also the wii should come with two straps and two rubber casings mine did anyway

  4. Yeah, I was gonna say the tennis racket, but you already mentioned that.

If I were you, I would buy another Nunchuk, because if your kids’ friend comes over and wants to play a Wii game that needs a Nunchuk, he won’t be able to play. So get another Nunchuk; they sell cheap at Wal-Mart.

Also, I recommend the Wii remote and Nunchuk rubber covers. It protects the Wii remote and the Nunchuk so that they don’t get scratched up and dirty.

That’s basically all I recommend. Have a great time with your kids!

  6. You probably don’t need anything except rechargeable batteries and units. Don’t know how much your Wii is being used but I found with a couple of hours each day our batteries ran down rather fast, investing in rechargeable ones was a good idea (can also use them for my camera, so it was better for me than just a Wii charger, but you can get either). If you think a specific game would work better with an accessory then buy it but in my experience they’re just to make money and don’t make much difference.
