Post subject: GTI vs R32
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi All,
Thinking of getting a golf but i can not decide if i should get R32 or GTI,
I want R32 but is it REALLY worlth THAT much more than GTI??
only difference is engine and R32 has 4WD and bit more of accessories.
If im rich than i wouldnt even worry but im not.. I want to know what you guys think? and what would you guys do if you were me?
If you were me what car would you buy??
THANKS~~~
what are the difference between R32 and GTI?
R32 has a 3.2 vr6 engine AWD, 18/23 mpg , 0-60 in 6.2 seconds, and can do over 150 miles per hour.
GTI 2.0 T FWD, 21/29 mpg, 0-60 in 6.9 seconds, and up to 130 miles.
R32 is about $10k more than gti and what you really get out of it is just a nicer sound, 25 miles more on top speed, 0.7 seconds faster 0 to 60 miles, and couple of ".:R32" badges.
The GTI is cheaper, lighter and saves more on gas and maintenance ( such as tire and etc.) Still its a fast and fun car, has the same room and about the same look.
Heres the question, do you ever get anything close to the GTI's top speed? do you really care the gti is 0.7 seconds slower than r32? Do you really want you car sound like r32?
If so, get the R32, or you can improve a GTI for less than $10,000 to do and sound like a R32.

get GTI due to fact AWD is 2wd unless needed and GTI being front wheel drive you will be OK. Additionally not worth extra$$$$$’s.
