Can you destiffen/lessen the stiffness of a golf shaft?

Well, Im 16, play to a 5, and drive the ball around 250, maybe a bit more. Anyways, I currently use a HiBore 10.5 w/ Graffaloy blue (Reg flex, but 65or75 grams, i forget) and about 6 months ago my friend was getting rid of his 905r so i bought it off him for super cheap, but it was a stiff flex. Its a UST Proforce V2 (S, 76g, 2.2 torque). Is there a way to lessen the stiffness of it (perhaps soak it in something) or should I just bulk up and swing faster?

the grafalloy has more tourque , softer tip . the ust stiff tip , less tourque , two different shafts altoghter , the ust will give you lower launch , lower flight . the grafalloy more height . more carry . both shafts should be .350 tips , shaft swap will work . the ust is not the proper shaft for everybody . your swing will let you know when to change , when the clevland starts high hooks time to change to other driver , also this time of year the air is heavy so you will not be getting accurate feedback due to density of air you will loose distance , dont try to swing faster , you have a great driver that has the wrong shaft for now , 3 months from now time to go to back up . and i will buy the clevland . plus i have 80 plus wedges , if your short . dont change anything . time will be soon
